Getting To Know Us

We're a church community based in Williamsburg Brooklyn (but with folks from across the NYC area) of regular people living life with God in our culture, living like Jesus lived & doing the things Jesus did.

We think that despite religiously charged politics, religious church culture & many other things that make many people cringe, God is actually here with us & cares for every person.

The gospel Jesus shared was simple, pure & the answer for life. Faith is not just for grandmas & religious people, but available to everyone in every walk of life.

Our weekly sunday services are 6PM @ the Trash Bar (Grand & Roebling) & 11AM service with kids church @ the red brick building on the corner of Metropolitan & Manhattan Aves.

All are welcome, regardless of what you believe, how you were raised or what you've done. We welcome people at any point in their faith journey.

We're apart of the Vineyard international family of churches.

A great way to get to know the North Brooklyn Vineyard is to see the things we really care about:

The Kingdom of God. We believe that God cares about our world so much, that Jesus coming was not about a new religion, but about a divine invasion to redeem all people & creation from the the broken way the world goes into a world where God rules as loving, but just King.

We think that God is actively doing this, breaking into our world today in natural & supernatural ways to continue this work. This shapes everything we do & creates an 'activist' culture of loving all people, caring for the people around us & expectation that God is actually with us.

Relationship with God & one another. Everything we do springs from this relationship. The gospel is a 'gospel of relationship'. We very much value friendship & relationship with one another. This happens in Sunday services, organized small groups meeting during the week & organic friendships that happen. We always want to respect people.

Worship as a way of life. Worship is not just something we do on Sundays, but something that all creation was created to & longs to do. For us this means this means coming before God with gratitude, not as ritual or duty but in a way that is true to who we are, honest & real.

Treating the Bible as our manual for living life with God. We view the Bible as the inspired, authoritative word & story of God. We study it in proper historical, cultural & academic context, trying to never slant it to meet our agenda. We aim to teach the Bible in a way that is practical for life with a balanced approach.

Being attractive, "naturally-supernatural" followers of Jesus. We use a straightforward approach to the Christian life that is simple & accessible even for non-church goers. Our culture is contemporary, informal, relaxed & friendly, avoiding hype & manipulation in all we do. We value every member having a part to play and try to be "naturally supernatural".

Sharing the good news about Jesus with others. We understand that our church community does not exist for itself, but for the 'outsiders'. We want to be the good news to our neighbors & co-workers, looking after the poor (in the various implications of poor) & underprivileged & starting new churches throughout New York City.
